AUDIO - From the Needs of the Human to the Needs of the Earth
You can’t put a price on the sacred. Our earth is our sacred trust. We need to develop self-awareness, and through this we can then begin a journey to find harmony between all peoples of the world and with the earth herself, and for this harmony to then flow to our wider environment.
  • Working for the Navaho nation it is obvious that we need to change from our current approach of dominating the earth to moving to one where we work with the earth.
  • To achieve balance with the earth you need to work inside of yourself, as well as with the plants and animals around you
  • The Native American peoples suffered being made to leave their lands of their birth and were forced to resettle onto so called reservations, effectively these are internment camps.

Quote:  "From the time I was born I didn’t like being told what I had to do; so I didn’t fit in and the natural outcome was that for all of my life I advocated for those that didn’t fit in either.

Mark O’Brien

Robert “Mark” O’Brien is an award-winning writer/producer/director, creative consultant, actor, artist, and co-founder of Human Dimensions TV. Mark’s interest in Indigenous people and respect for nature were ingrained in 1979, when he first arrived in Alaska and experienced the spiritual majesty of Denali - North America’s tallest mountain.
Mark teamed up with Joëlle Hervic to form HDTV while visiting the Suquamish Tribe on the banks of Puget Sound. Together with Joëlle and with guidance and insight from Neil Dougan, Mark wrote "Journey Home,” an award-winning screenplay about the spirit of an American Indian warrior from an apocalyptic future who returns to present day where he must find and inspire the one child (a young girl) to save the planet for future generations. Mark and Joëlle continue to build a diverse coalition of Native American artists, academics, tradespeople, advocates, and investors to seek funding and transform “Journey Home” into an important and inspiring work of hope.
